Captain Cove will join Canadian Canoe Kayak Team at Florida Training Camp!

Hanging around at Cove Sport Therapy has allowed Captain Cove to meet many members of the Canadian Canoe Kayak National and National Development Team. In fact he was able to hitch himself a ride with Connor Taras to spend sometime at National Team Training camp at The Pines in Indian Harbour Beach Florida this year! Here are a couple pics of him waiting for his drive- Note the lovely artwork by Janson Artworks!. Safe Travels little buddy!

Meet Captain Cove - (TSPKAMT (The Skeleton Previously known as "Mr. Tickles")

Captain Cove came to live with us here at Cove Sport Therapy in October 2010. He previously resided in Woodlawn where he was very well loved by the staff and clientelle at The Physioclinic. There, Mr. Tickles could be found sporting clothing fitting with the season (a Christmas Elf, a Halloween Pirate, etc) as well as making great use of all the facilities (Exercise equipment, water cooler, computers, etc).

He decided to follow the crowd and opt for a change when a number of other staff members spread their wings moving to various positions around town. He had a peek at a number of different locations around the city and decided that the sunny, bright clinic, and stunning view of Lake Banook were exactly what he was looking for. All of us at Cove Sport Therapy were very happy to have him as his outgoing, transparent personality, and willingness to be poked, and twisted for educational purposes are a great fit here!

Since the move Captain Cove has had the benefits of free Physiotherapy and Osteopathy treatments. These have been VERY successful for him, reattaching a completely severed arm, and untwisting a twisted hip. When asked about his treatment he said " With help from Natalie,Shelly, and Diane, I have begun to feel more complete, they have show me how to achieve my goals."

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates from Captain Cove!

Welcome!

Welcome to Cove Sport Therapy's first blog attempt:-) The goal with this blog is to give you some useful health and wellness tips, interesting facts (or fiction), and have a little fun. We will be a little more realistic than to commit ourselves to regular posting, but we shall do our best!

First, here is a little bit about us and our clinic philosophy:

Cove Sport Therapy is a joining of minds, hands, and professions. Natalie, an Athletic Therapist and Osteopath, and Shelly, a Physiotherapist are childhood friends who both took their careers in the health care direction. When creating Cove Sport Therapy they had a vision which would bring together the science and art of physical rehabilitation to create a peaceful environment with all the tools you need to achieve your performance goals.

Natalie and Shelly are Dartmouth Proud. They both love the community and the hometown feel that goes with it and can’t think of a more fitting location for their City of Lakes clinic than on beautiful Lake Banook in the heart of Dartmouth Nova Scotia.
Cove Sport Therapy is committed to providing excellent, personalized, hands-on care, to the active client. Cove Sport Therapy utilizes leading research to identify and treat the cause of the problem, rather than just the symptoms, achieving lasting results that will empower our clients to reach their goals.

Be sure to ask Natalie and Shelly at Cove Sport Therapy how they can work together to help you accomplish your goals. www.CoveSportTherapy.ca
